Design of Learning Environments
Artifact 1
Description
This was a synchronous discussion designed for use in a graduate level online class. The participants were divided into four groups to explore questions about a fictional teacher's issues with creating distance learning.
Rationale
There were two levels to this presentation: developing expertise in the content area (design of distance learning), and designing the synchronous online discussion. Both parts align to AECT standards because they involve creating and using instruction based on content knowledge and an understanding of learning environments.
AECT Standards Demonstrated
Standard 1 - Content Knowledge
Standard 3 - Learning Environments
Collaborators

Artifact 2
Description
I created a prototype of a presentation in a module of instruction for an online audio engineering course. This version of the presentation includes notes detailing the design principles used in its creation.
Rationale
In addition to showcasing my design philosophy for creating simple visual aides for synchronous instruction, this artifact also shows the use of appropriate design principles in the selection and presentation of the material. This artifact demonstrates creating instruction using content knowledge and relevant content pedagogy.
AECT Standards Demonstrated
