Evidence of Collaboration in the Field

Artifact 1

Description

I collaborated on a plan for collecting citizen feedback for various public works projects for the City of Cleveland, TN.  Special attention was paid to how best to use technology strategies that did not under-represent poorer or less technologically savvy populations in the city.

Rationale

I collaborated on the ethical needs analysis for this project, which included interviewing a representative for the City of Cleveland to get a better idea of their needs.  The plan was formulated together, with the writing of various sections delegated to the team members, and then assembled, along with classmate's projects, into this report.  This shows a collaborative practice with other designers because we had to work on this project from the ground up as a team.  It also shows my ability to work effectively with a client in the field.

Artifact 2

Description

I collaborated with a group to create a usability test for learners to perform certain tasks using a popular blogging and web design tool.  I have also included a contemporaneously written reflection on the collaborative process.

Rationale

The entirety of this test was collaborative, from the choice of what design tool to test, to its implementation, to the examination of the results.  This process was an evidence of my collaborative practice, as well as my ability to collaborate with others to assess and evaluate appropriate technologies for learning.
